Control
system is one of discipline science that is supported by any discipline such
mathematics, physics, mechanics, chemistry, electronics and computer science.
In the
modern control, electronics and computer science has important action, because
the modern control system applied many of new algorithm,
that can be run at computer system or microcontroller system.
Microcontroller has a function as microprocessor. The different
is simplicity of microcontroller that can stand alone with out any component
such ADC and external memory. Microcontroller is a kind of integrated circuit
that be packed as common IC. The main different is the ability to run the
instruction code that is loaded at it's memory. On the other hand, microcontroller
is completed with Arithmetic Logic Unit that can run arithmetic operations. With
out a program that was loaded in it's memory, microcontroller can do nothing.

Fuzzy logic copy a mind set of an expert when make a decision.
All of input and output are represented by language that described in
fuzzy set. By the expert knowledge base, fuzzy rule are derived. The outputs of
fuzzy system are resulted by inference process that based from fuzzy rule and
the reality. The controller which use fuzzy logic system is called fuzzy
controller.
Simulation
Example
When the neurons receive any
input of excitation, then this excitation will be processed by neural system.
When the excitation is greater than the threshold level, this excitation signal
will be propagated after be amplified and summing. This process is centered in
the brain. From those processes, the brain will take a conclusion. The process
that occur in the neural system, then be applied as an algorithm known as
artificial neural network that can be used in control system, pattern
recognition system and any other.
When a fuzzy system and artificial
neural network are combined, then result a new algorithm that call a neuro-fuzzy
algorithm. This algorithm has characters that inherit with the two combined
algorithm. Fuzzy system can be functioned to overcome an initial condition, and
artificial neural network can be functioned to do an adaptation process, then
neuro-fuzzy can be called as fuzzy system that can do an adaptation.
Sistem kendali fuzzy, dapat
diterapkan langsung dalam bentuk perangkat keras, tanpa melalui simulasi.
Asalkan dari sejak awal perancangan, sudah diketahui perilaku umum dari sistem
dinamik yang dikendalikan. Tetapi untuk mempermudah proses penalaan dan
menghindari kesalahan (kerusakan fisik), maka ada baiknya sistem kendali yang
sudah dirancang dan disusun programnya, disimulasikan terlebih dahulu
menggunakan komputer. Selama simulasi berlangsung, parameter-paramter pengendali
harus ditala, hingga diperoleh kinerja pengendalian yang paling bagus (sesuai
dengan kriteria perancangan).
